UninterruptedVR travelled to some fascinating places in 2023!

The VR experience was selected by Canada’s Trade Office in Taiwan to be part of a year-long celebration of Canadian arts & culture. The Kaohsiung Film Lab, a purpose-built VR theatre in southern Taiwan, exhibited UninterruptedVR for close to a month in the summer.  The immersive experience travels well internationally — with no narration and an originally composed soundscape it works beautifully in any language!

Closer to home waters, UninterruptedVR could be viewed all summer at the Fraser River Discovery Centre, located right beside one of the largest remaining sockeye salmon rivers in the world – the mighty Fraser.

Plus the team guided UninterruptedVR into schools with a pilot series that saw students from Grades 4 through 11 get immersed in the experience, while at the same time learning a little more about salmon in local streams and what can be done to protect them.

As a perfect conclusion to the year, Nettie Wild (who conceived and directed UNINTERRUPTED)  received the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media arts for her lifetime body of work.  One of the memorable images from UninterruptedVR was included in a group exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada featuring the work of all 2023 award winners.

Hurrah Nettie!

As to the future, UninterruptedVR will once again be appearing in select public spaces and galleries in 2025.  If you’re interested in having the VR edition exhibited in your city or country, we’d love to hear from you.  You can reach us through:  hello@uninterrupted.ca
